About

The festival is part of the Kunsthal’s public program, curated by South into North to explore the “thin places” where, according to Celtic mythology, the boundary between the earthly and the spiritual is unusually thin and easily crossed. Dream Theory investigates the permeability of these domains through sound, featuring performative and musical acts by local and international artists.

As researcher Lucy Rose Sollitt writes in “The Synthetic Sacred,” published by NERO Magazine in 2023, thin places in art offer “the opportunity to reconnect with the sacred,” expanding connections between ancient cosmologies and contemporary hybrid ecologies.

Through their work in the field of both publishing and curation, NERO were asked to curate the music program of Thin Places’s festival. This culminated in Dream Theory, investigating the permeability of thin places through sound. NERO is an international publishing house and creative studio based in Rome devoted to contemporary culture and specialized in arts, visual culture, music, and theory.

Join us in Møn to take part in an intimate experience of collective listening and contemplation in the transitory space between the organic and the synthetic, between physical reality and dream state.
