Events

At 44Møen we host dialogues on art, talks, performances, guided tours and other events

Upcoming

26/7, 15:30-17:00

Join us for a musical performance with poetry readings by Ida Benke and Jason Dodge of Alice Notley’s poem At the Foot At the Belt of the Raincoat and Danish translations of Diane Di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters (Revolutions Breve) – accompanied by music performed by Janus Nevel Ringsted and Christoffer Møller.

Revolutionary Letters: Diane di Prima began writing her ‘Letters’ in 1968, conjuring a potent blend of utopian visions, ecological urgency and spiritual insight. By turns a manifesto for breaking free, a manual for street protest and a feminist broadside, these poems are as relevant to the convulsions and crises of today as they were fifty years ago. During the last years of her life, di Prima worked on the final iteration of her enduring project.

Alice Notley’s poem At the Foot At the Belt of the Raincoat was published in 2020 by Jason Dodges poetry imprint 500 places. Eileen Myles writes of the work: Alice writes the most romantic poem of all time, everyone thinks it’s about them and bodies floating through walls and everything that you dreamed actually did happen in a painting or a whispered dark, articles of clothing transmit, people are born and die passionately, nothing forgets, everything is lost, in a corner, in a crowded room, whispering, dropping this note, it is so leafy and tragic and direct.

We look forward to seeing you next Saturday, 26/7, at 15:30 for this wonderful afternoon of collective listening and poetry.
